If Monday and Thursday are the only good days for most other members then I would still try to come as I would love to visit the turtle with Kin members. If other days are just as good though they might be a better choice.

There are three of us at the moment who will usually be allocated to a run on a Monday and Thursday. It's certainly possible for us to not sign up for that run and stay free for the Kin event, but in practical terms we are giving up a few hours of fun for a very quick event. The way things are going with the alliance, it looks as though there will soon be room for other Kin members to go along (there have been spaces the last few times, but the old radiance bugbear of Turbines has made things difficult).

So in short... I really want to do new things with the Kin, and it would be wonderful to see us get the chance to visit many new places together... but if days other than Monday or Thursday are possible then it's best for some of us!

Hmm, hmm. I certainly understand your point of view. It was to be expected, that finding a most suitable time to nine persons out of nine might prove difficult. Someone will be likely to suffer. So far, Bregowine is with minority here, since you and your friends number three altogether. I would love to here opinions of others, too, before making the decision, but if none are voiced, I think we have two options:

1) Schedule the Turtle to Tuesdays semi-permanently.

2) Use a little more complicated pattern, and schedule it during first week to Tuesday, and at following week to Thursday (Then again Tuesday).

I do not think I will touch my arrangements with next week anymore, whatever the decision, since Tuesday is here pretty soon. But the following Monday, 9th of Nov, can still be adjusted according our decision here.

And by the way, may I humbly ask that someone with moderator rights would do my cleaning, and clean my invite threads from the new forum area, when the date the thread was concerned with will be past?

Looking very good and nice an the calendar. It gives a good overview this way.

Really looking forward to be able to join one or more of the events. Need to check my busy hobbit agenda with lot of family meals and parties.

I will try to remember to delete any threads of past dates (or maybe just put them into an archive sub forum or something).

If all goes to plan I will have a bit of a general tidy up next week.

Thankyou for putting this effort in Cirdael. Experience has shown me that arranging things rarely goes as smoothly as one would wish (not just for our Kin but for all it seems).

As everyone saw, we had a busy night of members last night... it was nice to see and gave me a lot of hope that we can indeed plan and hold some larger events!

Great work Cirdael! I just see you have put on reservations on Monday. For reasons beyond my knowledge, the calendar of the forum seems to start weeks from Sunday....

There isn't much you can do to configure the Calendar, but you can change the start of the week to be Sunday or Monday. Shall I switch it?

Technical issues aside the calendar seems to work.... Lots of kin online yesterday. Too bad we didnt do a turtle run. Maybe next time.

It was indeed set to Monday, Vinyalindo. That was purely intentional, and was based on my knowledge of members' restrictions of participation. However, this knowledge has since then greatly increased, *smile* and it now seems that Tuesday would be more suitable day. I will try to simply move the events, but if that doesn't work out, I will great new events, and cancel the old ones.

As for the starting day of the week at the calendar, I would perhaps put Monday, since it is now very easy to get the day wrong with a quick glance, if one isn't paying attention. Although, I do believe, that if we consider historical perspective, Monday as the first day of the week is relatively new... In my language, Wednesday is still called "center of the week -day", which it indeed would be, should the Sunday still be the first day, and Saturday last. I also vaguely recall, that Jewish sabbath, "the original seventh day" is on Saturday. But this might be a little OT , sorry

I modified the Tuesdays' introductory texts a bit: I added a link to this thread, with a thought in mind that general conversation considering e.g. the most suitable day would take place here, and the threads linked to the calendar would remain only as participation lists.

Thank you to that kind person with moderator rights, who added the missing dates to the titles of my threads! Much more convenient now.
